The Border Terrier Club Open Show (17-10-2015)

First Place in Limit - Bitch, Judge: Mrs. Joyce Martin (Merumhor)

Show Critique:

I would like to thank the Border terrier Club for the invitation to judge at the Open Show at Low Hesket. It was an honour and privilege to be offered this appointment. I was delighted with the super entry of 96 dogs making a total entry of 132 and appreciate the turnout of so many fine dogs on the day and the sporting way my decisions were taken. Thank you to my ring stewards Ken McKenzie and Dave Hodgson for keeping everything running smoothly for me. Also thank you to the committee for their hospitality and to Jane Shaw for providing a lovely lunch which I enjoyed very much.

Placing Critique:

2 year old g/t tan bitch that took my eye as soon as she entered the ring. She has the most beautiful otter head that has the broad flat skull, little stop, a short, strong muzzle, big teeth and strong underjaw. Her ears are neat and close to cheek and she has a sweet feminine expression. She has a lovely straight front and ribs carried well back. She has a super top line which she carried on the move. She is well muscled and with good rear angulation which she put to good use when striding out round the ring. She has lovely tight catlike feet with thick pads and a short thick carrot tail to finish the overall picture. Her coat was dense, thick and harsh and she has a super loose pelt. I was pleased to award her BB and BIS.
