The Terrier Club Of Scotland Open Show (16-10-2016)

Second Place in Junior - Dog, Judge: Mrs Tina Jones (Otterholme)

Show Critique:

My sincere thanks to the committee for the invite to judge at this well run and welcoming show and to my efficient steward who kept things flowing allowing me to focus on the task in hand. Lastly and most importantly the exhibitors, for your entry and sporting manner that my decisions were accepted.
I am always mindful when judging the breed, that it is essentially a working terrier so therefore I am looking for a terrier that is fit for function. Some I struggled to span, which had a bearing on my placings. Pleasing to find the majority had ample pelts, but on the flip side some lacked for me enough undercoat to afford protection, if they were in the working arena.

Placing Critique:

different type to 1, showy young man, a little finer in bone than 1, movement was excellent with plenty of drive from behind and demonstrating economical movement. He spanned nicely, shoulders well placed back and has the required narrowness in front. Preferred overall length of rib of 1
