The Terrier Club Of Scotland Open Show (16-10-2016)

First Place in Open - Bitch, Judge: Mrs Tina Jones (Otterholme)

Show Critique:

My sincere thanks to the committee for the invite to judge at this well run and welcoming show and to my efficient steward who kept things flowing allowing me to focus on the task in hand. Lastly and most importantly the exhibitors, for your entry and sporting manner that my decisions were accepted.
I am always mindful when judging the breed, that it is essentially a working terrier so therefore I am looking for a terrier that is fit for function. Some I struggled to span, which had a bearing on my placings. Pleasing to find the majority had ample pelts, but on the flip side some lacked for me enough undercoat to afford protection, if they were in the working arena.

Placing Critique:

Very typical in head with femininity. Well constructed throughout, with a correct length of upper arm into correctly placed shoulders, I found her construction to be sound throughout and her sound movement was a reflection of this. She has the thickest pads I have come across, which was a nice find. A correct carroty tail with the correct tail set. Picture completed with a superb tweedy jacket of harsh texture and density and ample pelt to compliment it. Best Bitch and Best of Breed.
