Second Place in Open - Bitch

Show Critique:

I would like to thank the officers and committee for the invitation to judge the Border terrier bitches, with my co judge, Bridget Singh. The hospitality received was much appreciated, and the day was one I really enjoyed. It was lovely to see such a good entry for the show as a whole, and that the borders had attracted the largest entry in the terrier group, my thanks to our two capable stewards, who kept things moving along nicely. Thanks also to the exhibitors who did me the honour and privilege of going over their bitches and accepting my decisions in a sporting manner. All exhibits were of good quality and fit for purpose and I was delighted with my entry. Bridget and I agreed on the bitches for BOB and BPIB.

Class Critique:

What a lovely class to judge with some good quality bitches that could easily change places on another day

Placing Critique:

A different type to winner, 3 year old blue & tan bitch, with a lovely expression on a feminine head, nice flat skull, neat ears, short strong muzzle with good scissor bite. A narrow front leading into good shoulders, ribs well back, good for bone with well padded feet, lovely racy outline, thick loose pelt with nice harsh topcoat. Could easily change places on another day, I just preferred movement and length of body of winner.
