Whitehaven & District Canine Association Open Show (20-03-2022)

First Place in Open - Bitch, Judge: Mrs Sue Baxter (Mysulan/Sulan)

Show Critique:

My thanks must go to the hard working committee for the kind invitation to judge
Border Terriers at this show. The welcome was warm and the hospitality on the day
was excellent.
There was a lovely entry and my gratitude goes to the exhibitors for their support ,also
the sporting manner in which my decisions were taken.
My general observations were as follows, bites mostly correct , males appeared intact ,
no tail kinks but what I did find was a few dogs quite broad chested and rather wide at
the front, rears were less of a problem .As breeders we must remember that
narrowness throughout is not only desired but needed if Borders are to be capable of
doing the job that they were bred for.

Placing Critique:

3yrs. 8 months… Caught my eye as she entered the ring and did not disappoint on closer examination. Beautiful B&T . Great proportions, well ribbed and strong loin . Loved her front and rear assembly ….Covered the ground with attitude … one word that I think sums her up is balance.. Nothing exaggerated but a very good representation of a working terrier Very happy to award her Best Bitch and Best of Breed …thrilled to hear that later she went on to a terrier Group 2. Well done!
