The Northern Border Terrier Club Open Show (09-04-2022)

Second Place in Post Graduate - Dog, Judge: Mr. Tim Ball (Kaitak)

Show Critique:

A thoroughly enjoyable day and my thanks go to the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge their well-run Open Show. I was delighted with the excellent entry and what a pleasure it was to spend a day with the Borders and their owners. There were some well-filled classes which gave me lots to think about and some decisions were extremely close. A lovely atmosphere prevailed and applause for the winners was consistent throughout.

Placing Critique:

2 yr old of different type to the winner and out of a slightly bigger mould but he still pleased. Muscular neck of moderate length, correct topline, good length to ribcage, firm loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Masculine head and expression with moderate breadth to skull, good eye for colour but a tad larger, ears of correct set, short strong muzzle and correct dentition. Pleasing angulation, straight forelegs with correct breadth to chest, good feet and firm, muscular rear. Gaiting nicely on the go around but could not quite match the action of winner. Jacket of good texture and thick pelt. Another well handled.
