Second Place in Open, Judge: Mrs Jill Stevens (Cobstoneway)
My thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge and for their hospitality on the day. Thanks also to the exhibitors for a lovely entry of quality dogs. All exhibits were clean and nicely turned out, and I found no kinked tails, only one imperfect bite, and all males were entire.
Three lovely exhibits, making it a difficult decision.
3 year blue and tan bitch – a worthy champion. Lovely head with splendid big teeth in good bite. Narrow straight front, excellent shoulders, flat ribs carried well back, good body length with strong loin. Easily spanned. Level topline with nice tailset and tail. Best of coats, being harsh, thick and impenetrable. Could easily have changed places with the winner, but just not quite giving of her best on the day, giving 1 the edge standing and moving..
